Have you ever thought of your heart as soil? You should!
The parable of the sower in Mark 4 tells us every time we hear the Word of God, it is a seed sown on one of four soils.
First is the path Satan immediately takes away.
Second is the rocky soil where you hear it and joyfully accept it, but since you have no depth, it dries up quickly.
The third soil is thorns and weeds. The fruitfulness of the word is choked out because of the cares of life.
The fourth soil is what we all want to be, fruitful-thirty, sixty or one hundred times over. Don’t think of this as a onetime event. Every time you hear the scripture it will land in one of those four soils.
I want 2019 to be a great farming year. That means preparing the soil so it will produce an abundant
harvest. I also want to prepare my heart so God’s Word lands in good soil and produces a bountiful harvest.
How about you?
Are you preparing for 2019 to have the seed of God’s word fall on good soil and produce
thirty, sixty or hundred fold?
May 2019 be your most fruitful year yet, as God’s Word lands on the good soil of your heart.
