December 2018 Devotional

Do you have concerns about what is going around us? Of course you do and so do I.

Currently it is raining, again, and we still have about 40 rows of sweet potatoes left to harvest. What I see is a little unsettling, but what I know is that God is in control. That is comforting to me.

Some 700 years before Jesus was born, there was a prophet named Micah. The Holy Spirit spoke through him telling him the place where the Messiah would be born. Micah 5:2, “But you Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from ancient times.” The Wise Men, Shepherds, and Herod all confirm that this prophecy was correct. If there are any distractions in your life keeping you from total worship of the newborn King this Christmas season, keep in mind the odds of predicting the exact spot on Earth where Jesus was born 700 years earlier. You can be assured “God is in Control.”
