November 2018 Devotional

Our sweet potato crop this year is bountiful! Our planting crew in the spring did a great job. The planter has pockets set for the proper spacing. The plant has to be placed in the rubber pocket properly so the machine can push it in the soil. Every space that was missed or not planted correctly allows weeds to grow in that spot and obviously won’t yield any potatoes. Healthy sweet potato plants grow vigorously, cover the soil, and slow down weed growth. It will produce a crop!

Reading in James 1:19-21, “My dear brothers, take note of this. Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to be angry. For a man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent, and humbly accept the Word planted in you which can save you.” Planting the Word and receiving it will crowd out the evil trying to get into our lives.

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, give thanks for the people who have sown the Word in your life and rejoice as you joyfully sow God’s Word into others. Give thanks for the harvest will be great!

We all have much to be thankful for.
